Windows 10: Cannot log into old laptop after activating Windows 10 on new laptop.

I bought an Asus Vivobook and ran through the Windows 10 activation process. This asked for my Microsoft account, and used my email name xxxx.yyyy to create some kind of login. Apparently my Microsoft account uses that email.

Now I cannot access my older, main laptop. I never thought this even used my Microsft account, I thought it was local, and the user name there is xxxxyyyy. I can no longer log in with that username, and cannot change the username without logging in no other accounts possible.


Both connected to the same wifi, tried shutting down the new laptop, still old one does not accept any password.


In the process I did change my Microsoft account password to try to solve this. When I do this, it works fine on the new Vivobook.


I am totally locked out of my main laptop. Can someone help me? Causing me real problems.

De-Activate windows 10 on old laptop and activate it on new laptop

Hi,

I have old laptop with windows 10 home edition by default, few months back I have upgraded it to windows 10 professional through Windows store app and it is working on my old laptop, due to some hardware failure, I have to buy a new laptop. my new laptop
will also have windows 10 home by default.

Is there any way to de-activate the windows 10 pro on my old laptop and upgrade and activate my new laptop? I have not received a product key along with this purchase, I have a license associated to my windows account.

Yeah this is good suggestions here with your old laptop but i just want to say you that you should replace your old laptop with any new laptop by exchanging the old one and i think this is the best opinion for you ....
