Windows 10: Cannot Maintain Audio Stream From Radio Stations

Just bought a new Dell Windows 10 desktop. I often open a browser tab for a radio station and select "listen live" to start audio streaming. If the streaming occurs in a new browser tab, the stream will stop every 10 minutes or so and then start up again. Even more annoying, if several other browser tabs with streaming are open, but not steaming, all the audio streams start playing simultaneously! I have to then shut down the unwanted streams. Interestingly, if the audio is streaming in the background, whatever window I'm working with when this happens also stops and indicates "no internet." I have 100Mbs Fios so it's not a bandwidth issue and I do this all the time in the Windows 7 computer with no issue. Happens in both Edge and Chrome. So it is a Windows 10 problem. This problem does NOT occur if the streaming occurs in a new window or in the same browser tab as the radio station website. It ONLY happens if the audio player opens in a new browser tab. Is there a buffering problem in Windows 10? This behavior is very annoying. How do I fix this?

You can stream live UK radio stations by pointing your phones browser to UK Radio Stations webcasting in Windows Media Player format



However there doesn't appear to be a link on the list for Talksport at present.

Internet Radio Stations

Adding a station is mentioned but the routine for that isn't listed. Here is a quick routine. It uses somaFM stations as the examples but enter the URL you need at that point of the routine to find Internet Radio happiness.



To Add A Station to the N900 Internet Radio

• Tap Media Button
• Tap Internet Radio
• Tap Internet radio stations
• Tap Add radio bookmark
• Tap web address entry field
• Enter http://voxsc1.somafm.com:8850
• Tap down caret with line under it to finalise entry (upper right corner)
• Tap Name entry field
• Enter the name of the station
• Tap down caret with line under it to finalise entry (upper right corner)
• Tap Save button
  

At this point the N900 will bring you back to the list of entered radio bookmarks. An information bar will appear across the screen informing you the media bookmark has been saved.

Scroll through list of bookmarks until you find the one you just created, based upon what you called it.

Tap the bookmark - enjoy!

In general, get the station you want on your N900 to play in Windows Media Player. In Windows Media Player go to File|Properties and the Location listed in Properties will be the URL to enter in the routine above. This will yield the URLs for the stations I
haven't listed.

 

Nokia 5800 - How to use RealPlayer to stream MP3 radio stations

Here is how to use RealPlayer to stream MP3 radio stations:

1) Start RealPlayer

2) Select "Stream links"

3) In "Options" menu, select "New Link"

4) Select "E: Memory card" (You can use either "C: Phone memory" or "E:Memory card", but it is a good idea to conserve the phone's memory)

5) Enter the station name in "Name:" and the http link in "Web address:"

6) If you find the streaming MP3 radio station that you just entered doesn't show up in the "Stream links" list, you will need to exit and then restart RealPlayer. You will then find the station you entered listed in "Stream links".

Here are a few example of MP3 stations that I like to listen to:

This station plays downtempo instrumental music.

Name: Lolliradio

This station plays English and Italian Pop and Club music.

You can find the http links for MP3 streaming station by going to www.shoutcast.com, click a station's "TUNE IN!". Then click "Listen in Winamp or Other Player". Select "Play in your Default Media Player". Then click "Save". If you are using Winamp, bring
up the playlist. Click "LIST OPTS" and select "SAVE LIST".

If you selected save the file to the desktop, open the playlist file in notepad and you will see the "http://" link(s).
