  1. Cannot Play WAV files

I am running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, installed on a Dell XPS 8930 computer, OS build 18362.900.

Attached is a Western Digital external hard drive, where many, if not most, of my mp4 and wav files are located.

However, for whatever reason, I cannot play any of them. They are locked, even after making myself the owner with full permissions on the F: drive, which includes all folders and files.

How can I unlock these files to play the audio associated with them?

    :)

    Wav attachments will not play

Wav attachments from our Avaya phone system will not play on Windows 8 Phone. Avaya says they use a standard wav format and the issue is with the mobile device and suggests using another app to play the file or change phones.

I didn't have this problem with the Windows 7 phone.

I'm sure MS didn't remove functionality for such a simple file format. What can be done to fix this issue?

    Cannot Play WAV files

play WAV file with Windows 10

    Hi Lena

Is this just one wav file, or all wav files that will not play on your PC with those media players?

If it is just one wav, file, you can assume that wav file is corrupt .. ..

If this happens with all wav files, please provide the error(s) you are seeing when trying to play those files . . .
