Windows 10: Cannot record audion in Cyberlink 15 and Movie Maker cannot use digital input from device.

I basically have 2 issues, but I think they are connected. I have updated Windows 10 to current version.

I have tried to use Movie Maker to capture input from my VCR to process in Cyberlink 15 to produce a DVD. These are home recorded VHA tapes of family events. Movie Maker will not use my device Vidbox NW03, and I get the following message:

"Sorry, Movie Maker can't record audio or video from the selected device. Make sure the device is installed properly and not currently in use in another program, and then try again."

How can I correct this?

I have Cyberlink ver 15 and I cannot hear audio in capture mode. I have imported video from other capture software that had audio, and there is not audio when i import to Cyberlink.

I have gone to the Privacy Setting and made sure the software has access to both video camera and audio devices.

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

Movie Maker does not record anymore

As a first step, I suggest repair Movie Maker and check if it works for you. This is to check if there is any missing or damaged files for Windows Essentials.

Follow the steps below repair Movie Maker:

1. Press Windows + R, input AppWiz.cpl, then click
OK.

2. Search for Windows Essentials 2012 on the list and then select it.

3. Click Uninstall/Change.

4. Click Repair all Windows Essentials programs.

Windows Movie Maker not recognizing .avi files

Follow the below steps to repair Windows Live Movie Maker.

• Type appwiz.cpl in the search box and hit Enter.
• Right click Windows Essentials 2012 and select repair.
