Windows 10: cannot remove old invalid user account win 10, posted 7/31/2018

OK, I give up. I cannot remove an old Microsoft account that does not appear in Control Panel, Users. The old account shows up as a user on the Windows 10 login screen. There is a folder for the old account in c://Users. I have been forced to change my Microsoft account password twice recently, perhaps because of the bogus account. A huge percentage of the help articles are too old to use on my up-to-date version of Windows 10. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

• Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
• Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code: net user test /del[/quote]

• Press Windows + X keys, select Control Panel.
• Select User accounts.
• Select Manage other accounts.
• Double click on the account you want to delete and select
  Delete the account.
• Follow the instructions and check if it helps.

Cannot Remove User Account so I Can't Revert to Win 7 From Win 10

I want to go back to Win 7 from Win 10.

The option to revert back to Win 7 will NOT WORK because the tool insists that I remove the user account(s) I added after the upgrade. Well, I CAN'T remove the only account because I only have ONE user account and I can NOT delete it!

Therefore, I CAN NOT revert to Win 7.

What's the solution to this?
