Windows 10: Cannot right click on Windows Start Button

Hi there.I am running a fully updated copy of Windows 10 Pro x64.Around about 15th December my PC had some kind of issue that caused about 4 different problems.I have been able to fix them all except for one.When I right click the Windows Start Button the context menu refuses to work.Right clicking does work on most things after I open the Start Menu but on some things it doesn’t.I have tried different fixes I found via Google including restarting Explorer, replacing the WinX folder etc, etc. None of them have worked. I looked at suggestions involving using the Group Policy Editor, and mak

Windows 10 Start button - No right click option

Nothing appears (no menu) when I right click the start button also Win X does not work or show and sub menu. I have tried restarting explorer.exe and I have run sfc /scannow to no avail! Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

 

Start Button displaying but not working


The start button was working until there was a forced reboot (power failure). Then left click (normal click) over the start button does absolutely nothing. Right click brings up a menu but "programs" and also "settings" are missing and not included on this list. Search or Task View buttons do not work either with "normal" click. Does anyone have any suggestion or fixes?

Follow the below steps:

  Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).

  Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.

  After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
  

Also, I suggest you to check for the Windows updates and see if you are able to access Windows Defender.

Steps:

• Press Windows key and type Windows update.
• select check for updates and install all the pending updates.
