Cannot Save Changes to Word Documents

When trying to save a changed document with the same name and same location:

"We can't save the file because it's READ ONLY. (I checked. It isn't.) To keep your changes, you'll need to save the document with a new name or in a different location"

So I changed the name of the document:

"Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full (far from it) write protected (it isn't) or damaged."

So I changed where I wanted to save it:

"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator (I thought I already WAS the administrator) to obtain permission."

The documents are NOT Read Only, Hidden or Blocked.

Is this the WORD version of checkmate, you're f__ed?

How to have Word auto-suggest document title when "save as"?

It's not actually an option in Word's settings, but you may have disabled it by adding a Title, either for the document or in the document template. Details from the How-To Geek here...
