    Hello,


    I have a problems sending emails; in short, while I can receive emails I cannot send them from any email account that I own.

    I have tried various gmail accounts, 2 uni accounts (one of which is managed by google), and a windows live account and only the live account allows me to send emails.


    Thanks to the Mail app I was able to get an error code (0x8009030f) and looked for solutions online.

    I have reset the Mail app already, ran sfc /scannow and DISM but all of these did not solve my issue.


    After trying multiple mail clients including Outlook and Thunderbird I have to conclude that there is an issue in my windows installation, therefore I am posting this in the Windows category

    Post Windows 10 Issue Sending Email From 3rd Party Program Using SMTP

    I am using an application (Navicat) to connect to my postgreSQL database and email a data report nightly to a distribution list. After upgrading to Windows 10 I am no longer able to send email from the program using SMTP. When testing my connection I get
    the following error message: "Sending test mail failure: ERROR: Socket Error # 10060 Connection timed out."

    I am using a gmail smtp server to send, that uses port 465 and SSL. I have tried using smtp.gmail.com:465 and get a host not found error. This all worked perfectly fine before the Windows 10 upgrade (was on Windows 7).

    Any ideas about what may be causing the issue?

    Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't see an option to open this issue in an email forum. If there is one, could someone move it to that forum?

    The program I'm using for mail is Gmail. Acronis True Image has a notification section where I supply the following information. Check the "Send email notifications about the operation state" box, enter my Gmail address in the To field, enter the outgoing
    mail server(SMTP) in the Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP) field, set the port to 587, select TLS, check the box for SMTP Authentication, and provide my username and password. When I click on Send a Test email, it fails with the Network Error on the Windows 10 PCs
    and sends an email on the Windows 7 PC.

    I've seen both Google documents previously. I do have both IMAP and POP enabled. I'm not certain why, but I do have POP3 setup for an old unused Yahoo email account, and an unused Comcast email account.

    Outlook 2013 won't send email. Thunderbird does. Both have same SMTP.
