Windows 10: Cannot sign in using Microsoft Account

I was in Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Single Language build 20231.1000. Then I reset the PC deleting all the files and since I deleted the previous installation of windows or may be due to other reasons, the same insider build got installed. Then, I can't sign in using my Microsoft account. So I clicked on Sign in with Local Account instead. Then after that if I click on Sign in with Microsoft instead, a dialog box appears and then within a few seconds it just vanishes. Even before clicking on "Sign in with local account instead" I tried to add an email account and a Microsoft account. But the same happened. This is the reason why I chose to sign in using local account and then switch back to Microsoft account. But I can't sign in using Microsoft account even after that. Also, when I tried to just change my picture it throwed a Account picture error before and after clicking on Sign in using local account option. Even I tried to manually delete the default images in the folder where user pictures are stored and then add my own pictures. But nothing happened. When I switched to local account sign in the image changed with the image I tried to change it at first and not the first of those bunch of images that I put in that folder. I also tried to create a new account from control panel which redirected me to the Settings app and when I tried to add another profile even then a dialog box opens and then suddenly vanishes.

Most importantly, in the settings app, if there are any buttons that has a popup window all those buttons don't work. For example, "Open Windows

Security" on clicking opens and suddenly vanishes. Nothing is visible. It just has a blue background. Everything in the settings app is like this.


How to solve this? To say no app opens. For example Mail and Calendar, Microsoft Store, etc.

Cannot sign in microsoft account.

My device: Lumia 520. GDR2.
I cannot sign in my Microsoft account on my device. It didnt say any error but Microsoft account is not listed in Email and account list. When I click add button, it will show microsoft account option but after press sign in, it is still not shown in email
and account. Another problem is i cannot delete facebook account. Error code: 0x83cf1202. I have tried as suggested here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2475837/en-us#step0x83cf1202 but as my Microsoft account is not shown, I cannot do step 6.

Any suggestion?

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

• Is this the only account on the computer?
• Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
• Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.

• Navigate to Start>Settings>Accounts.
• In the left pane, click on sign-in options.
• In the right pane select Never from the drop down list for the option
  Require sign-in.
