Windows 10: Cannot sign into my Microsoft account in the new Minecraft launcher

Cannot sign into my Microsoft account in the new Minecraft launcher. When I press the sign in button it displays the sign in screen for a second and then says "Something went wrong ion the login process". I have disabled Xbox services previously, is it them or something else I don't know about?

Microsoft Launcher and signing in

Ken, I'm not sure why it is not working (I have never set it up for family) but I did see
this and it had this on the page. Just wondering if you saw it and have done what is indicated.

1. Requires a Microsoft family account with Device health sharing permissions enabled. Also requires Android devices with Microsoft Launcher installed and signed in with the same Microsoft account associated with their Microsoft Family account.
   
2. For a parent to access and view a child’s locations and app activities through the https://account.microsoft.comFamily web page, Microsoft
   Launcher must be installed on each child’s device.
3. For a parent to access and view their child’s location(s) and app activities through Microsoft Launcher, Microsoft Launcher must be installed on both the parent’s device and each child’s device.
   
4. In each case, location and app usage permissions must be allowed through Microsoft Launcher on the child’s device. Activity reporting features require Android 5.0+ on each child’s device.

• Is this the only account on the computer?
• Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
• Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.

Android Microsoft Launcher - Sign in failed

I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. When I went to setup the Microsoft Launcher app, I received the "Sign in failed" message. The only way to proceed is to press the Skip button. However, this defeats many of the features of the Microsoft Launcher
app.

However, when I setup my wife's phone (same model), there were no issues.

I tried:

• uninstalling/reinstalling the app
• using a different Microsoft Account
• verified login credentials
• resetting phone to factory defaults and installed the Microsoft Launcher app first (before installing any other apps)
• pressing the skip button and tried using the app settings

Nothing seems to work. Any assistance would be much appreciated
