SSD cannot be trimmed after Windows Anniversary Update.

SSD driver uninstallation is no different from sound card driver uninstallation or graphics card driver uninstallation. Upon restart, Windows re-installs the driver. It is something like "when you clean-install Windows on a brand-new SSD, there are no drivers
on your SSD. During Windows installation, Windows installs the drivers". Almost all of the drivers are basic. You then install the advanced drivers from manufacturers web site, such as graphics card drivers. But you do not touch some drivers. You use the drivers
that come with Windows. SSD drivers are one of them.

Anyway, if you want to continue, do it like this:

Open Device Manager, expand Disk drives, open Properties of your boot drive ( the one Windows is installed on ). Go to Drivers tab and click Uninstall Device. Windows will ask you to restart. Upon restart Windows will re-install the driver. You will not
notice it. I reckon you do not have RAID setup.

If there is no change in your SSD optimization setting after SSD driver uninstallation, you may try one more thing: Update / install Rapid Storage Technology and AHCI drivers. That is the Intel name. If you have AMD board, there may be an equivalent.

    Hope this helps.

Did you try thru Disk properties > Tools > Optimize ?
Is SSD recognized as such ?
Is Trim enabled (AHCI mode too) ?

If you will open an elevated command prompt ( Right click the start flag and select Command Prompt (Admin) and run this command

fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify and press enter. It will tell you whether trim is enabled.

DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

That would tell you if Windows 10 is sending trim commands to the SSD Controller.

  6. I have done fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify and get result :-

    NTFS DisableDeleteNotify = 0
    ReFS DisableDeleteNotify = 0

Any help how to solve issue.

I had no issue with before upgrade to Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

    Thank you.

Can you turn on auto optimization ? Looks like Optimize button is grayed out and optimization turned off.

Isn't that the disk defragmenter? You should never defragment an SSD. That's why Windows automatically turns it off.

It is and isn't, HDDs get defragged and SSDs trimmed. If you click at Optimize it trims SSD and defrags HDDs. That's how it is since w7 Sp1.
