  1. Cannot understand why Win 10 has stopped thinking of itself as activated

I know my product number Win 10 Pro 00331-10000-00001-AA746.I did NOT change any major hardware, but nearly a year ago my computer un-activated... I only noticed recently when I decided I wanted a new screen saver and learned how not being able to update personalizations indicates non-activiation!I probably got the Win 10 license during an upgrade from Win 7 years ago, and I don't have any external document or sticker. The command wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey returns nothing, but in the activation screen, I can see a partial key not commented out. So!!!!!!

    :)

  2. Stop Win 10 install

    Hi Bryon,

Thank you for using Windows 10.

    • Let us know are you referring to Update list when you say "Win 10 mailing list"?
Meanwhile, I suggest you to Run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool which fixes the Windows corruption error if there are any. Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows+X.

    • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
      and hit Enter.
Hope it helps. Let us know if you need further assistance and we'll be glad to assist you further.

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.
