    Cannot uninstall Foxit Reader


    I like Foxit Reader, but it stopped working so I tried to reinstall it. I downloaded FoxitReader97_Setup_Prom_IS.exe from their website and tried to reinstall. Partway through, I get the message "Installation unsuccessful. Please uninstall the previous version before installing the latest version."

    After OK the install appears to proceed, but app will not run:

    Fair enough. Control Panel/Uninstall. Yes I’m sure I want to uninstall and all of its components. Then the same message
    “Procedure entry point ?DeleteFileHitTermList@fxindexlib@SAXPAUFileHitTermList@2@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\FOXIT SOFTWARE\FOXIT READER\FoxitReader.exe”

    I poked around on the web and tried a couple of things, but nothing works.

    Help?

    Foxit Reader - Secure PDF Reader | Foxit Software

    With any luck, you can install the latest version over the old one. If not, you'll have to uninstall the old version and then install the new.

    Foxit reader problems

    There is no special version of Foxit Reader for Windows 10.

    Have you downloaded and read the part of the .pdf help file about Forms, which starts on page 185 of that document?

    F1 takes you to the list where the Reader download is found.
