Windows 10: Cannot uninstall update KB4540673, which has drstically slowed my laptop.

Hello.

I have noticed my computer slowing down after installing recent updates provided within the last month.

I've done a system restore to the 26th of March, which is the furthest back I could go. It didn't not seem to alleviate my issues, as the lag most noticeably occurs whenever I try to play a game. Framerates drop from within the 70s down to 15-20fps! My computer is only about a year old, with good hardware design for gaming--and these issues only seemed to have popped up overnight last Wednesday, as everything was working as normal before hand.


I have uninstalled every recent update that I could, and am left with KB4540673, which I literally cannot uninstall as I get an error message every single time.

I really, really do not wish to have to reinstall the entirety of windows 10--as installing my programs and saving back ups of all my files and such would take... hours--ones that I do not want to waste. Not to mention, the updates could just reinstall once again and I would be back to square one.


Is there any other way I could uninstall KB4540673 outside of control panel, or am I stuck for who knows how long waiting for Microsoft to release an update that does not nearly break my pc?

Uninstall Cumulative Update KB4535996

Hi ,

As I was having very slow boot times (10-12minutes to boot to Desktop) after installing CU KB4535996, I uninstalled it, and boot time improved to 4 Minutes, but this caused other issues with the PC, so I re-installed KB 4535996 again.
( Back to 10-12Minute slow boot)

I waited for the next updates from MS, hoping something will be resolved with them. After the new Cumulative updates KB4540673 and KB4551762, since nothing changed and boot times didn't improve, I wanted to uninstall the rogue update
KB4535996 but to my dismay, it is not listed anywhere under the installed programs. Not sure what to do now. Will it be hidden somewhere - Can you assist ?

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused
