Windows 10: Cannot update from 1511

TLDR: Currently on windows 10 v1511 I cannot update to new version of windows.


I recenlty got my hard disk updated to SSD and they didn't clone my windows partition. The manufactured resetted windows to the version which was shipped when I orignally bought the laptop. My windows copy is digitally signed and had data backup so I didn't create a fuss about it. But now, I'm unable to update any new version of windows. I tried multiple solutions such as "Windows 10 update assistant", "Media Creation Tool" and none of them seems to work. They either get struck at some point or return with different error code.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows 10 Pro doesn't show update 1511 (build 10586)

I have Windows 10 Pro and it doesn't show the update 1511. I've followed all the steps commonly advised:

• I ensured "Defer Upgrades" is not enabled in Windows Settings (Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Advanced options) or Local Group Policy (Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Defer Upgrades and Updates);
  
• I've updated from Windows 8.1 but it has passed more than 31 days since;
  
• I haven't installed 1511 update previously.
  

What else can I do to make Windows Update to show it, without installing the update from the ISO manually?

Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:

1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?
