Windows 10: Cannot Update to build 20211 because VirtualBox refuses to uninstall

Installing the update normally through settings gets stuck at 35% then pops up aninstallation window pictured which tells me to manually uninstall virtualbox to continue as it is 'not compatible with windows' . At first the uninstallation attempts failed stating "You need admin privileges" even though I am the admin, and specifically ran the uninstaller as admin. As a last resort, I enabled and logged in to the Windows Built-In Administrator account, which allowed me to uninstall Virtualbox. However - even after restarting, Windows update still throws the same error - halting at 35%, popping up a window and telling me to 'Manually uninstall Virtualbox', with no option to skip or continue. The refresh button on the lower right seems to do nothing. Looking this up, I thought that maybe if I installed an old version of Virtualbox on top of whatever is supposedly left, this error would not appear. This was, however, In vain. Even after restarting, manually deleting the reinstalled Virtualbox folder in program files and manually cleaning its registry entries, and cold booting afterwards, this error still shows up. I have run sfc /scannow successfully, and dism seems to have no effect as well. I amon build 20206 currently. If there is some unclarity - this is the host OS, directly on my machine.What seems to be the problem?

VirtualBox crashes with 14382, and uninstall preview build hangs/fails

Hello-

Today I received build 14328 (upgraded from current release build of Windows10).

Oracle VirtualBox fails to start (crashes immediately); it works fine on the released build.

So, I attempt to 'uninstall latest preview build' to roll back to my previous build. When

I click that, it goes gray, I get the wait cursor, and then nothing. Eventually the Settings app

just crashes. Help!

Should do the job, if you cant uninstall it, just delete everything you can find via windows explorer, and if it refuses to go, use some fileshredding software like what you suggested above!

 

BSODs starting Virtualbox VMs


Just an update. Puppy Linux works fine in Virtualbox on 10586.218 x86 on the Compaq laptop.

Next step is to check with the TP build 14332, which I'm not looking forward to... *Shock
