  1. Cannot Wake Computer From Sleep Without Removing Components

I am experiencing a strange issue with my computer waking up from sleep. Sometimes when I put my PC to sleep and I go to turn it on, the fans spin at their highest RPM and the only way to turn the computer on sometimes is to turn off the power supply, wait for the lights on the motherboard to turn on get rid of all residual power, turn the power supply back on and push the power button. This only works about 30% of the time. The other times, I have to remove the ram sticks, turn on the PC, wait for the motherboard to fail to boot, then turn the PC off and reinstall the ram chips. This only works about 25% of the time. Another method is to unplug the graphics card, turn on the system, let the motherboard freak out, and then plug it back in and turn on the PC again. This only works about 20% of the time.

If none of these work, I have a system with no ram, an unplugged graphics card running with the fans on full blast and the motherboard does not realize there is anything wrong. The last ditch effort is to rebuild the PC, unplug the hard drive, go to the bios, plug in the hard drive, and then restart the computer.

    Help!

I have no idea what is going on. I do not believe the problem has to do with any of the components since I am currently writing this with the computer in question. I have a sneaking suspicion that it has to do with windows. The system is probably entering a boot loop, which removing components breaks and forces windows to boot outside the loop. However, sometimes the boot loop ignores the system components which leads me, again, to suspect this is a windows issue.

However, that is as far as my suspicions lead me. Please help!

If it matters, here is the computer in question

    Processor: AMD 6300

    Motherboard: Asus 970 Pro

Ram: Ripjaws DDR 3 2x4 gb

    Powersupply: Corsair 500w

    Storage: WD Black 1tb

    Graphics Card: Nvidia 650ti

    computer wake-up after sleep

    Hi Bill,

There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
    so:

    • Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
    • Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
    • From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
      OK/Apply.

Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.

  3. wake from sleep issue in windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

    Hope the information is helpful.

    computer wake-up after sleep

Did all the steps exactly as shown above and "Allow this device to wake the computer" was already selected.

I think you might have miss-understood the problem. It appears that the computer is waking up, but it doesn't re-connect to my display. I have to turn off the display and turn it back on to get my display to to re-connect. This was not a problem prior to
    the last Win 10 upgrade.
