Windows 10: CANON PRINTER i-SENSYS MF3010

I have problem trying to use the printer on my Microsoft Surface 4 pro. The system doesn't recognize the printer

I am trying to install a canon I-sensys MF3010 printer

There seem to be quite a few instances of this error reported but unfortunately I haven't seen any confirmed solution.

Here are 3 suggestions.

1. Start the computer in "clean boot" configuration and see if you can install using either the CD that came with the printer or the downloaded driver (see 2. below). To start Windows 7 in a clean boot configuration:

• click Start, type msconfig into the Search box, and press Enter
• On the "General" tab, click the radio button for "Selective startup"
• Clear the "Load startup items" check box
• Click the "Services" tab
• Select the "Hide all Microsoft services check box" (at the bottom)
• Click Disable all
• Click OK
• Click Restart
  
  Do the installation. When you are done (whether or not the install works properly), run msconfig again, select the radio button for "Normal startup" click OK and restart the computer.
  
  
  
  2. Download the driver from the Canon website and see if that installs.

  3. Ask Canon for help. The Canon "i-SENSYS" line of printers appears to be the name used in European markets for Canon printers marketed in the U.S. as "imageCLASS" printers.

I am trying to install a canon I-sensys MF3010 printer and when I put the software disc into the computer I get a message which says "Could not start setup under the current environment. Check the start condition of
setup."

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your Canon printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your Canon Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for Canon Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.
