Windows 10: Canon printer not printing photos properly

My printer will only print part of a photograph. I am told that it might be a problem arising from the March Microsoft Security Update. Other than removing the Update has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution/ Will Microsoft issue a patch soon? I understand Brother printers may also be impacted.

Are these the same Printer Cartridges since the problem started ???

As LemP points out the Ink Nozzles in the Ink Cartridges themselves are probably blocked.

Ink in Ink Cartridges Dries / hardens and blocks if left for a period of time.

They can even dry out all together.

The time factor on this happening to the Ink Cartridges can vary on the climate you are in / heat / cold / humidity including how the printer is used and stored.

• If this Canon Printer was more towards the top tier of printers ( say around $190 Dollars ) i would buy and replace all ink Cartridges.
• If this Canon Printer was of the cheaper variety ( say under $50 Dollars ) i would buy another cheap Canon Printer as it would not be justifiable to replace the Ink Cartridges in a Cheap Printer.

• With Cheaper Printers in general the Ink Cartridges would cost close to the replacement value of a Cheap Printer.

I would suggest buying new ink cartridges and use the printer more frequently.

 

Canon printer won't print

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot

Scroll down

Click Printer

Click Run the Troubleshooter

When complete, restart to see if the problem is resolved.

If that does not work...

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your Canon printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your Canon Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for Canon Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.

 

Canon MG5300 printer not printing complete photo after upgrading to Windows 10.

Original title: Printing of photos

I use a Canon printer MG5300.After installing of Windows 1o the printer prints out on the photo paper only half of photo. On plane paper prints the entire photo. For Windows 7, it was not the problem. Please help.
