    Can't access Device Settings for trackpad to disable PalmCheck.


    Basically the title. The sudden extra delay which I've never had before is driving me insane. And no, in the "additional mouse settings" tab you get to through either control panels' "change mouse settings" or Windows Settings' "Additional mouse options" it's not there.

    Disabling Palmcheck

    So I just reset my PC a few days ago and it changed everything to default. When trying to disable Palmcheck after the reset, I wasn't able to actually find where to disable it. I tried doing it the same way I did it before, which is going to Mouse properties
    and going to device settings, however the Device settings didn't show up in mouse properties and I haven't been able to find any other way to disable Palmcheck and everything online tells me to do it the way I knew how, but I can't do it because the Device
    settings tab isn't there. Please help Can't access Device Settings for trackpad to disable PalmCheck. :(

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft community. I will certainly assist you with the issue.


    What is the model of your hp laptop?

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the setting in device manager:

    ◾Go to Control Panel tile.
    ◾Click on the Mouse icon.

    ◾Go to TouchPad Settings tab, and click on ClickPad Settings Or open the Device Settings tab then Settings.

    ◾Under Pointer, click on PalmCheck-Enhanced and hit the gear icon.

    ◾In PalmCheck-Enhanced properties, go to the PalmCheck section and move the slider to ON, and hit Close button

    ◾Next, Click OK.

    Can't find Palmcheck anywhere

    Hi Carsten,

    We have noticed that the post has been idle for several days. We just want to know if you're still still looking for the Palmcheck option on your computer. If you are, please follow these steps:

    • Open Settings > Devices > Mouse.
    • In the right pane, click Advanced mouse options.
    • Under Mouse Properties, click Device Settings.
    • Under Devices, click Settings.
    • Look for Pointing and click the + sign to expand it.
    • In the menu that opens, click the + sign beside Sensitivity, then click
      Palmcheck.
    • Here you can now adjust it by dragging the slider.
    • Hit OK to save the changes.
