  1. Can't access NAS files in file explorer

    Hi,

I have a small home office with two computers. I decided to invest in a NAS so that the two computers have access to the same files. The newer computer, a lenovo AIO, had no problem connecting to the nas through a network switch which both computers are connected to, however the older computer, an acer xc-705, cant access the files from the nas. The only way i can access the is to go onto the webpage for the nas. I have tried enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP, I have tried mapping my network drives, i have restarted the computer and the nas multiple times and nothing is happening. Can someone please help.

    Thanks,

    Evan

    :)

Win 10 File Explorer Can't Access NAS HDs

Just some further data. When I open File Explorer the NAS doesn't show up anywhere. But, if I click on Network in the left window, the NAS shows up in the right window as Network Storage. But, clicking on the icon only takes me to the NAS web page. No access
to the HDs on the NAS.

    Regards, Jim

Win 10 Pro file explorer lockup opening NAS drives

    greetings,

Win 10 pro upgrade from 8.1 pro on Hannspree netbook. Install went well, now when trying to access 2 different NAS boxes on my non domain network (simple workgroup setup) file explorer can't seem to access either of the drives, and when trying to abort the
attempt, file explorer locks up for about 20 seconds. Somewhere in the process I picked up a persistent error that the temp file removal failed, and this now persists even after reboots.

Had no issues w/ NAS file access while under win 8.1. No config changes to either the NAS boxes or the win install that I have made. Also, no issues accessing from my other win 7 computers.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    WRS

NAS not appearing under Network in File Explorer - Automating the Fix

I have been having issues with my WD MyCloud NAS not showing up under Network on the left navigation pane of File Explorer. I am able to access the NAS by entering the host name (\\WDMYCLOUD) in the address bar in File Explorer. I was able to find a solution that fixes this and makes my NAS appear in Network as expected. The solution involved running Command Prompt as Admin, executing some commands, then restarting the computer.

What I would like to do is automate this process by creating a batch file that will:

    1. Open Command Prompt as Admin
    2. Automatically enter specific commands
    3. Close Command Prompt
    4. Restart the computer

The problem is I don't know anything about how to code batch files in order to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
