Windows 10: Cant add a device to my account.

I click the icon to add a device but it won't accept the serial number on the back of the computer. Why?

Unable to add a device to Microsoft account

Ideally, when we sign in to a device using the Microsoft account, the device is already added to the Microsoft account. However, as you have mentioned you are unable to add the device to the Microsoft account after removing it. We would suggest you
to try converting the account as a local account and then converting it as a Microsoft account. This should add the device to the Microsoft account. Kindly refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Accounts and select
   Your info on the left pane.
   
3. Now, click on Sign in with a local account instead and follow the on-screen instructions.
   
4. Once the account is converted as a local account, sign in to the account, go to settings and click on
   Sign in with a Microsoft account.
   
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to convert the account. Once the account is converted as a Microsoft account, the device will be listed in your Microsoft account.
   

Meanwhile, we would like to know the following details to assist you with the Minecraft issue:

• How are you trying to install Minecraft?
  
• Which edition of Minecraft are you trying to install?

Can't add my PC as a device

Hi George

Sorry I forgot to add NOT showing. I need to add my PC as a device to my microsoft account to be able to download an app I need. And at the moment I can not download the app because my pc is not listed on my devices. I did do the steps to add my PC to
my devices but it still is not working.

 

My Laptop is not included in My Devices list on Microsoft Account

Same as the subject my laptop is not included in My Devices list on Microsoft Account.

Here are some details:

I am running Windows 10 on Asus ROG G751JY gaming laptop. Recently I've changed the Microsoft account I'm using, and now I cant see my laptop listed in the My Devices list although before changing the account it used to appear in the list in my older account.
I changed the account by converting to local account the re-convert to Microsoft account using the new account I created.

I've tried to add my device but Microsoft website only includes the options to add Windows Phone, Surface, Band or Xbox. So how can I re-add my laptop to my devices list in order to enable find my device service.

Note: I am sure that it is possible to have a non-Microsoft product in the list because I had my Asus listed there in the older account. The problem is that there is no option to add non-Microsoft device on the website.

P.S. I made sure that I am signed in with same account on both the website and the Laptop.
