    Can't boot normal

So last night my PC went into sleep. Then upon waking it up, it never displayed the login box to access my desktop again. Once I restarted the computer it would load into a grey screen where spinning dots never stopped. I've done some troubleshooting through command prompt in recovery options. Upon doing a chk dsk on my ssd with the OS it shows no issues. After checking disk part and list volume it seems my ssd has moved to H and J as its recovery partition I assume(it also comes out at hidden)
Last thing I ran was sfc/scannow and passed without issue.

Working off my phone so I'll try my best.
Been having issue since last night. Could use some help.
    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Can't boot normal mode.

You can access safe mode from normal mode by selecting the keyboard shortcut
Win+R,, type msconfig and press the ENTER key. Click the
Boot tab and check the box before Safe boot, click on
Apply and OK and restart your computer.

To revert to normal mode you follow the same procedure except that you uncheck the box before Safe boot.

  3. Can't boot normal mode.

I tried to boot my PC in safe mode with network and I can't type my password for the account because there's no internet. Then I tried to boot in normal mode but I couldn't, tried many times but nothing, just safe mode with network, without any internet
and no access to my account to get in to the PC. Can someone tell me how to connect the PC with the internet without accessing to the account?

    Can't boot normal

Hi, the drive letters as viewed via command prompt from a boot disk will not be the same as when Windows is running, so nothing to worry about there.

Have you attempted a Startup Repair from your Win 10 boot medium?

Do you have any usable system restore points (Sys. Restore is available via a Win 10 boot medium)?

Do you have a System Image (from Windows) or a 3rd party disk image?

HI and welcome to the forums!

I've had the exact same issue after a windows update.
The first time was a few years ago, i booted into DOS and with Diskpart i re-aranged the labels of my drives back to the correct settings.
What was happening was that at boot, the C-drive (or its label) was getting assigned to a random disk (i had multiple disks).
So if i was lucky, it would assign C to the drive with the windows on, and boot correctly.

Last time i had this, was a month or so ago on my W10 machine.
Again, after a windows update, my computer just wouldn't boot.
I disconnected all the drives but one (the one with windows on), and it would boot just fine.
Every time i connected just one more drive, it wouldn't. The diskpart trick from a few years back, did not help.

Since i didn't have the time to keep investigating this, i did a format C and haven't had a problem ever since.
Note that i have my system setup in a way that formatting my OS isn't a big issue, all important data is saved on an other drive (not de C-harddrive). With windows libraries, this is easy to accomplish.

Ugh. Thanks for the help guys!

I tried start up repair multiple times before going into dos for some further digging. I was able to restore on Friday night and my system was working flawless but come Saturday night after waking it from sleep, the issues returned but worse. I sadly didn't have an image created and this time around every restore would say successful but to no prevail. Luckily it was only a 180 go ssd full of games so no real important data was lost. In the end I installed a fresh 500 gb 850 Evo I had and did a fresh install. Before formatting my 180gb I retrieved some small documents I needed.

I did try rebuilding some stuff from dos.
Bcd files and what not. Wish I'd known how to switch labels around as well. I think it also had something to do with my permissions but at this point I don't care anymore lol. Thanks either way for getting back. I will definitely come digging through these forums for future reference. I found a lot of useful things here. I definitely will be back as I work with several machines. Good day to you all!!
