Windows 10: Can't change lock screen wallpaper!

Can't change lock screen wallpaper tried every method.






1. Did I make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?:- Nope , just regular update

2. Is the issue specific to a particular picture?:- Nope, all picture
3. Are you logged in as the administrator? Yes


Tried all three methods found on answers.microsoft.com


Method 1: Choose lock screen picture from photos app

1. Open the desired picture through photos app
2. Right click>set as>set as lock screen





Method 2: System File Checker(SFC)

System File Checker scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. When the scan is complete, the System File Checker tool indicates whether integrity violations were found. If integrity violations are found, the System File Checker tool lets you fix the integrity violations.

Follow these steps to SFC scan

1. Press the Windows key + X and click/tap on Command Prompt (Admin).

2. In the elevated command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.




Method 3: Create a new user account

I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue persists.

  Are you not able to choose the directory where the wallpapers has been saved?
  

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to restart the computer and check if you are able to successfully change the lock screen wallpaper.

  From Desktop, right click and select
  Personalize.
  
• 
  In Personalization window, click on
  Lock Screen in the left pane.
  
• 
  And choose wallpaper you would like to apply for the lock screen by choosing the browse option.

  Close the Personalization window.
