    Can't connect to microsoft services

So today I've been having trouble connecting to microsoft services like SmartScreen and Xbox. I checked the statuses and microsoft and xbox services are both up. I ran a troubleshooter and it returned this. The device or resource www.microsoft.com is not set up to accept connections on port "The World Wide Web service HTTP". Now I'm wondering why microsoft.com doesn't accept connects and why nothing is working. I've restarted my PC but am unable to restart my router because I'm using a streamed pc. This issue has never happened before so I'm guessing it's probably not the streamed pc.

    :)

  2. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

  3. Services Problem

For future reference , blackviper also contains a list of default settings in case you can`t remember changing a service. There are TONS of guides and references like this on the web if you don`t like blackviper.

    Connection Issues

    Issue:

Windows Mobility is installed and appears functional. Was able to get MC9090 to connect via the following steps:

Windows>Settings>USB to PC>unchecked Enable advanced network functionality, however, unable to get other models of the same type of scanner to connect using the same steps.

So the link for troubleshooting above takes me to a website that I think is Japanese but the page won't translate so I can't use it. I found another link to troubleshooting on Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter/troubleshooting.mspx
    but the link is broken.

    Windows 10 v1703.2.15063

    Scanners unable to connect: MC9190/MC92N0

    Steps taken:

In a command prompt or PowerShell that is running as Administrator, run the two commands below:

    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RapiMgr /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WcesComm /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    1. Reboot
    2. Go to Services
    3. Stop "Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity"
    4. Opened properties
    5. Go to the “Log On” tab
    6. Under “Log on as:” choose “Local System account”
    7. Check the box for “Allow service to interact with desktop”
    8. Go to the “Recovery” tab
    9. Set “Subsequent failures:” to “Restart the Service”
    10. Click OK
    11. Find “Windows Mobile-based device connectivity” and double click it to open its properties
    12. Go to the “Log On” tab
    13. For “Log on as:” choose “Local System account”
    14. Go to the “Recovery” tab
    15. Set “Subsequent failures:” to “Restart the Service”
    16. Click OK
    17. Restart the service
    Uninstalled/reinstalled mobile device driver.

    Any suggestions?
