Windows 10: cant connect to the local area or wired connection

Hi everyone I Recently I upgraded from Windows 7 to windows 10 and i have problem to connect to the internet especially to the ATHENA in the network shearing center.

Missing field Connect using in Local Area Connection Properties

Have you tried uninstalling the Network Adapter? Since there is no properties in the Local Area Connection, we suggest that you uninstall the Network Adapter. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows Key + R.
• Type devmgmt.msc.
• Right click on the Network Adapter.
• Select Uninstall.
• Select Ok.
• Select Scan for Hardware changes.

Update us on the results.

 

Automatic disconnect wireless connection upon a wired connection

The default setup is that Wireless will be connected when available. You can change that default to the wired connection:

1. Click Start, and in the search field, type View network connections.
2. Press the ALT key, click Advanced Options and then click Advanced Settings...
3. Select Local Area Connection and click the green arrows to give priority to the desired connection.

 

How to use both wired and wireless connection in one computer.

You can use but you should bridge the connections and ideally it should work.

1) What is the make and model of the router?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• On the Windows 10, click on the Windows icon. Type view network connections and press Enter.
• Identify your Ethernet connection and your wireless connection. The Ethernet connection is called Local Area Connection and the wireless connection is called Wireless Network Connection.
• Click on Local Area Connection to select it.
• Press and hold the Ctrl key and click on Wireless Network Connection to select it. Now you should have both connections selected.
• Right click on the selection and select Bridge Connections.
