Windows 10: Can't copy to external hard drive more than 30 GB

    I bought a new 2.5" SATA external case of 8TB. But when trying to copy files from my computer, it only copies 30 GB and then it shows error 0x80070570.I use windows 10 on my PC.I checked with Window's check disk and there is no problem. I tried to format the external hard drive all 4 partitions. No result.I'm not a computer specialist, but I tried some of the solutions I could find on the internet with no result.Can anybody help?

    External Hard Drive

    Hi John,

    We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
    The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

    External hard drive not recognised

    Thanks for this. I've done what you suggested and been through all the steps mentioned in the article. The hard drive works fine on a Mac computer, and I've managed to copy the information on it. It must be a Surface issue so I'll try to get a chat line tomorrow.

    i need to transfer 30 gb from my desktop to my laptop but i don’t have an external hard drive is there an other way to transfer that to the laptop.
