Windows 10: Can't download any file due to 'virus scan failed' TRIED EVERYTHING HELP

Hi guys ! I have had this issue for months and months and feel like nothing seems to work. I haven't been able to download any files photos, pdf's, utility bills everything because I get the issue on every internet browser VIRUS SCAN FAILED. I have spent hours trying to correct this issue with aboslutely no luck. I have done the basics clear cache, turn off and on all anti virus programmes, constant restarts, updating everything the list goes on Nothing seems to work ! I have even uninstalled Mcafee software using all the correct links Now I am unable to reinstall or download any softwa

Hi guys ! I have had this issue for months and months and feel like nothing seems to work. I haven't been able to download any files (photos, pdf's, utility bills everything) because I get the issue on every internet browser (VIRUS SCAN FAILED).

I have spent hours trying to correct this issue with aboslutely no luck. I have done the basics (clear cache, turn off and on all anti virus programmes, constant restarts, updating everything the list goes on)

Nothing seems to work ! I have even uninstalled Mcafee software using all the correct links (Now I am unable to reinstall or download any software due to the virus scan issue)

I have gone into Registary editor and made new sub files in the policies and modified the antivirusscan value data to 1 or 3 or 0. STILL NOTHING ! Every assures the registary editor or unistalling third party virus scanners will fix the issue but nothing has. This issue is so annoying as i can't download bills or medical files or anything. I almost feel like i need to get a new computer ugh !!

SOME BODY PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS ISSUEEEEE !!

Downloading files - VIRUS SCAN FAILED

I keep getting the message VIRUS SCAN FAILED when I try and download files from all sites on the internet.

However can download Windows Updates.

Any suggestions would be extremely welcomed.

However, please let us know:

• May I know the program that you are trying to download?
• Which browser are you using?
• Are you able to download any other programs?

I would suggest you to try using a different browser like Microsoft Edge and see if that helps.



If you are receiving this error while using Google Chrome, I would suggest you to refer the section
"Virus scan failed" or "Virus detected" in the article Fix file download errors
and see if that helps.



Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

I would also recommend you to create a system restore point.
