Windows 10: Can't drag and drop from Windows search

    Hi,

    I need some help! I was trying to drag and drop an image from the start menu search on to the Desktop but it idn't work!

    Is there a way to get it working? (It was working on Win8 so thats why I'm asking)

    Hi Charles,

    the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

    In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

    Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

    My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.

    Dragging and Dropping from the search results


    For example, I searched for fw18 here. I try to drag the file fw18.doc from the search results onto say my desktop, but it's not possible. It was always possible in Windows 7 but why not windows 10? Now I have to right click, open file location, then drag and drop to where I want it to go.
