    Can't enable Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection, no Incompatible Drivers


    I recently installed the newest update preview and have the same issue I have seen many people posting about where it is not possible to enable "Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection". I believe this to be a bug, and have submitted a report to the "Feedback Hub" as well. I can collaborate on providing information to resolve this bug elsewhere if there is a better place. Microsoft sure makes it hard to know where bugs are supposed to be submitted as it appears to be different depending on which team works on the software with no list of the best place to submit bug reports based on the

    Cannot enable Kernel-Mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection

    I tried this and turned off memory integrity and now I cannot get it back on. After I turned if off and restarted I tried to turn it on and click on review incompatible drivers but there were none listed. Now I can't turn on memory integrity or kernel mode hardware enforced stack protection.

    Hi Yitzhak,

    Your minidump files all indicate a virtual driver named HoYoKProtect.sys that is usually associated to Genshin Impact as the cause of the system crashes, it seems that driver is incompatible with Kernel-Mode Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection

    However, Microsoft released a patch for a bug in Defender last month involving LSA and that new patch has caused errors in Kernel-Mode Hardware-Enforced Stack Protection, so that update fixed one thing and broke another.

    So the best option is to leave that disabled until Microsoft provide a patch for this new bug in the latest update.

    I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue occurs when the processor is not compatible or not supporting Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection (KSHSP), in addition, I suggest updating your BIOS first then checking it again.
