    Can't extend volume

    Hi. I have a 500 GB drive with 2 partitions "D" and "E". OS is win10.
Have been trying to use the Extend Volume Wizard combine them to one drive letter.
But it won't work! I right click on "Extend Volume" and Next but there's nothing listed under Available or Selected and Next is greyed out. Its the same whether I start this on D or E.
Is this what's meant to happen (nothing???) or have I missed something?

    :)

    @James1093

You should not have to delete any partition to extend the free space. By deleting the Recovery partition, you are now unable to boot into Windows Recovery Environment.

Using Minitool correctly, it only takes few minutes to get what you want done.

    Here's an example:
Say I want to extend 10GB at the end of the disk into I: drive and there's a recovery partition in between.

    Can't extend volume [IMG]

Run Minitool then right click on drive I;, select Extend

    Can't extend volume [IMG]

    The next Windows will display

    Can't extend volume [IMG]

Click on drop down list box then select the 10GB unallocated space.
Next drag the slider all the way to the right to get all 10GB (default is half ie. 5GB), click OK
Click Apply for change to take effect.

The final will look like below with 10GB added and left the Recovery partition intact:

    Can't extend volume [IMG]

In addition, you should not have to use Diskpart since you already have Minitool installed. Just Right click on the partition->Set Active
then Apply. The same way if you want to set Inactive.

NOTE: The disk must be MBR disk type and the partition contains the Boot code to set Active for Windows to boot. Do not set Active to any data disk(s)

Hope this help the next person who wants to do the same as you.

How to extend OS drive volume in Windows 10.?

, just right-click on the partition that you want to shrink, and select “Extend Volume” from the menu

I want to extend so your answer is really frustrating ans. I want to extend so why should i shrink and select extend? Extend option is already Dim or unavailable?
