Windows 10: cant factory reset my surface tablet due to locked drive.

i was recently given an old tablet from my previous employer. its a surface, not sure which 1. it didnt come with credentials so ive been trying to hard reset it to get into it. i tried any password i could remember and failed. i tried going into the bios and looking around and failed. i tried the command line to mess with partitions but failed due to not having enough space. i tried trouble shooter to reset it but the drive is locked and i dont have the key. im out of ideas at this point other than opening it up and replacing the drive which i wont do. im just looking for some help to get into my tablet. i called them and asked but they cant remember the credentials either due to it being a backup and nobody ever needed it. does anyone have some other tips on maybe breaking the drive lock or a command line trick to unlock the drive so i can reset it?

5800 does a factory reset also reset the sim lock

I have a 5800, which has been unlocked by the provider (Tmobile) so I can use an 02 sim.

The phone currently has the expired certificate problem, and as suggested in the forums a factory reset may fix this. I know that most of the phones setting will also be reset...



But will a factory reset also reset the sim lock, and lock the phone back to Tmobile ?

Factory reset tablet stuck.


So I updated my tablet from 8.1-10.
There were some issues so i reinstalled some drivers and the issues continued so i did a factory reset.
The reset stopped halfway and wont continue.
The screen is mostly blank unless i fiddle with some things and a screen comes up asking if I want to continue to update, reset factory settings, trouble shoot, use usb or cd or continue the reset.
I have tried the reset a few times but it has not worked.

This is the tablet here. Unfortunately everything is also all in Japanese, which i understand somewhat but am kind of winging it.
