Windows 10: Can’t get adequate earbud mic level on Lenovo ideapad 110

What can I do to increase the very low microphone audio level from Apple earbuds to normal level on my Lenovo IdeaPad 110-151BR. It is running Windows 10 V2004 with the RealTek 6.0.1.7738 driver and even with the sliders that control microphone level and boost set fully on the audio level is much less than 10%.

I don’t know when this issue with the Apple earbuds started because I was using a Plantronics USB headset and the audio level was – and still is – fine. I’ve noticed the Driver is Microsoft’s 10.0.18361.1 when I use my USB headset. But, for complicated reasons I now urgently need to be able to use earbuds.

I’ve already reinstalled the RealTek drivers, rebooted the PC and confirmed that the exact Apple earbuds I am using with my ideapad work fine with my Lenovo Thinkpad E490 running a Synaptics 9.0.284.50 driver.

Surely there are experts on this issue and can help me resolve it. How can I find and connect with one now?

Laptop won't detect built-in mic on headsets/earbuds

I'm running Windows 10 home on a Lenovo Ideapad laptop, and it doesn't detect the mic on any of my headsets/earbuds. I can hear playback fine on my headsets/earbuds, but it can't speak through them, since it insists on using the laptop's internal mic. This results in my typing/mouse clicks all being captured on audio.

• In sound properties recording tab, I just see "microphone (Realtek high def audio)" and "stereo mix (Realtek high def audio)"
  
• In sound properties playback tab, I just see "speakers (Realtek high def audio)", yet I hear audio fine on my headsets/earbuds?
  
• In device manager, it doesn't detect a headset either, displays the same list as the recording tab

So do all 3 of my headsets/earbuds have some kind of "plug and play but stays invisible to the OS" feature? One of them is the default Apple earbuds, I'm 100% sure there's a mic on there and these are brand new, so they aren't broken. Are these not supposed to appear as a "headset" device with the headset icon in sound properties?

 

Taking over a new Lenovo 110S ideapad

I recently got a Lenovo 110s ideapad from a colleague. I do not know how to remove them and add myself as the new owner of the pad.

Boots up with earlier configured user name, prompts for his password. Doesn't allow to switch to a new user, or creation of one.

Use case: Laptop was given to an employee, who left the org. Now it need to be re-purposed with a different user. Any suggestions?
