Windows 10: Can't get Win 7 backup files to transfer into Win 10

    Can't get Win 7 backup files to transfer into Win 10


    I regularly backed up Windows 7, but when I tried to restore those files to Windows 10 I failed. The message is:


    "\\?\Volume{fe3e2aCa-afca-11e9-8293-00d8613863cd}\ADO-PC\Backup Set 2019-06-03-180002\Backup files 1931p"


    There are of course several backup sets but Windows 10 cannot restore any of them all for the same reason.


    I have searched through the sets and recovered several Word files manually but the contents of a 'Pictures' Folder, though visible do not respond to a ctrl-C and paste manoeuvre! They seem to be just zipped files like the Word files but can't get them to paste before saving them with an amended name.

    can I use easy transfer in win 7 using an external hard drive and then transfer the files to a new laptop with win 10 installed. If so ,how--details please. Just want transfer personal files, documents, favorites, pictures ,etc.

    Transfer files from Win 7 to Win 10

    I apparently wasn't clear in my question. I will try again. I have two computers. One is old with win 7. The other is a brand new one that I purchased with win 10 already installed. My question is how to transfer personal files,documents, favorites etc
    from the old win 7 laptop to the new win 10 laptop. This is NOT a case of upgrading a single computer from 7 to 10 using windows update. If this transfer is even possible, I'm hoping for details as to how to do it. Thanks
