Windows 10: Can't install anything after recent update - Windows 10

Hello,


Hopefully someone can help me cause this problem is driving me mad. Ever since the most recent update for windows 10, I have been unable to install any programs or software. To give you an idea of what's happening, I tried downloading Google Chrome yesterday, once I click the link to download, click on 'Run', it will download all the way to 100% and then nothing happens. I get the same issue with anything I try to download!


Unfortunately the update for windows was over 10 days ago so I am unable to go back to the previous version! I have also tried disabling both external and windows firewalls but that hasn't had any impact!


If anyone knows what this could be or knows a solution it would be awesome!! Some further info if it helps, I'm using a Dell Laptop that's only a few years old an is in really good condition!

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
