    Can't install kb4592438, always stuck at 96% and reverts itself.


    So this thing is going for over a week now. I have fresh system, installed over a week ago. After couple days kb4592438 wants to install through Windows Update. It installs, reboots my PC then at launch it goes to 96%, hangs there for couple minutes then says that update couldn't be installed and system will revert. And it goes like this every 2-3 days. I saw some posts that there were problems with this update but now are resolved. I don't have any external antivirus, firewall or anything. System is fresh. I don't know what to do with it... (I have Win 20H2 19042.631)

    Windows 10 installation stuck at 96%

    I have tried to install 3 times and each time i get stuck at 96%. It is giving me error code 0xC1900101 0x4000D. Help, please.

    [SOLVED] Update stuck at 96% (preparing to install)

    The issue isn't that the process is taking a long time. The issue is that when it sits at "96%" without changing for several minutes, it appears to be hung. This is the problem with any sort of percentage done reporting rather than just showing activity
    - it's just too hard to estimate what percentage is really done because so much depends on specific configurations. It's better to just show "I'm doing something" than try to report percentages and have this wierd "stuck at 96%" phenomenon.

    FWIW, I got this same thing on a Nokia Lumina 925 updating to 8.1 from T-Mobile. It sat at 96% for about 15 minutes then got past it. So clearly it WASN'T any where near 96% done when it said it was. But be patient - it may eventually come back to life
    and complete.

    Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1709 stuck at 96%

    As the title of the topic suggests, the update is just stuck at 96%. This is the second time I'm trying to download this update. The first time it was stuck at 95% and now this.

    Is there any other way to download this update. And also, how should I cancel the update cause as I'm writing this it is stuck. Or should I just wait it out for it to fail by itself?

    EDIT: It got solved on its own. Will reopen a new thread if any new error occurs.
