Windows 10: Can't install KB5026372 - Install error: 0x80070002

Can't install "2023-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5026372" - Install error 0x80070002I have tried to install this update numerous times with the same install error every time upon restarting my computer after install. Now it seems that I can't even install the update, as it stops at 100% and fails to install, "Install error - 0x80070002"I got the error after installing the update and restarting my computer and now get the error after it fails to install.I ran the troubleshooter for "Windows update" and got this "WaaSMedicService, Issues remediated b

I'm trying to download and install this 2023-05 Cumulative Update KB5026372 For Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64- based systems (KB5026372)

and it keeps failing

gets to about 75% install then fails

install error code 0x80070002

can anyone suggest anything ??

Things I've tried:
Scannow /frc
Checking date and time
Updating chipset / graphics drivers

Downloading and running the offline update

Running the Windows Update Troubleshooter

Nothing has helped. Any suggestions?

2004 update windows 10 error 0x80070002

Hello everyone,

thanks to some of the suggestions here and to some from other sources I have managed to fix the 0x80070002 error breaking up my feature update to 2004.

For completeness' sake and since it may help others, the following steps worked for me.

1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website
2. Create a bootable USB drive with the MCT
3. Boot up from this USB Drive
4. Choose install settings, click 'Next', but on the next screen select "Repair your computer" instead of "Install"
5. Choose "Troubleshoot" -> "Startup Repair" and let it finish
6. Restart into Windows and attempt the usual Windows update

It looks like the BCD on my computer had been damaged by the boot loader (Windows 10 + Recovery partition) and running the "Startup Repair" from the installation USB Drive corrected the errors.
