Windows 10: Can't install update, Undoing changes - KB4343909

Greetings,


First of all I'm at my wits end with this problem. It feels like I've had it for ages yet looking at the update it only came out on the 14th of August. I do think the July one gave me the same issue.


Basically every time I shut my pc down it installs this update, when i start it back up it tries to finish it then fails restarts and finally lets me in. This happens everytime I start my pc up.


I've tried afew approaches to try and resolve this.



net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver


This one didn't work.


I've downloaded the standalone package for this update which also didn't want to install. Done a system clean up and cleaned the update folders, I've uninstalled all the updates it allowed me too and let the pc redownload them, it all worked up until this point again.

KB3213986 failed to install 'undoing changes'

Having trouble with the latest update KB3213986. Tried all things suggested on many posts on this site but no luck. No matter what trying to install this update results in a restart that takes several hours to install then restarts to say it has failed and
undoing changes.

Tried everything I've seen advised bar re-installing windows again... Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
