    Can’t install Windows 10 on a new HD


    Hi, I have a Lenovo Ideacentre B320 in which I was using Windows 10 1803. After replacing the hd for an ssd I tried to install Windows 10. The install procedure ends without problems. After five minutes using the PC I hear the unplugging/plugging sound, the screen goes black and the PC only starts in safe mode. I thought it was some driver update who messed the install, so I reinstalled and then disabled drivers update via gpedit and in advanced system settings/hardware also paused Windows Update. Yet still after five minutes got the sound and then the black screen. To ascertain it was something windows was downloading, I reinstalled, disabled internet and the pc worked fine. Then I installed windows 7 and the PC worked fine too, so I’m inclined to think it’s a Windows 10 problem. With Windows 7 I ran Lenovo Diagnostics and got no errors, I tested the PC for two days with no problems. After that downloaded another Windows 10 ISO from MS, installed, and again same black screen 5 minutes after the install ended.


    I don’t know what else I might do to disable windows 10 from downloading the fail driver which brings the black screen. I tried disabling the windows update service, but after rebooting the service reconfigures itself as manual and restarts.


    I had none of this problems with Windows 10 1803 on the older disk which, sadly, I reformatted and fitted into another PC.


    Any clues?

    Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

    I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
