Windows 10: Can't move files to recycle bin, can ONLY permanently delete.

I am running Microsoft 2010 on a company-owned device. We have a shared drive and when I delete a file from the shared the drive e.g. right click "delete" OR drag files to Recycle Bin folder it deletes the file permanently. I would like the files to go to the Recycle Bin, but cannot figure out how to do that. [And yes, I have already checked to make sure that the "do not move files to the recycle bin" box is NOT checked in Recycle Bin Properties].


Is there a setting I can change?


I am suspecting that it is something that may need to be changed by an administrator through our IT department, but I've best luck with our IT department if I am able to give a really detailed explanation of the problem and potential solutions. Not to mention, the IT department is understaffed and there are long wait times for addressing issues, so if I can fix the problem myself--BONUS.


Any help is greatly appreciated.

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

Permanently delete confirmation pops up even though disabled in Recycle Bin properties

• Are you referring to deleting the file inside the recycle bin?
• Are you referring to deleting the file outside the recycle bin using
  SHIFT key + Delete?

Deleting files inside the recycle bin always asks for a confirmation prompt. It is the normal behavior of the recycle bin. And if you are trying to delete the files outside the recycle bin using using
SHIFT key + Delete it will also ask for a confirmation prompt because the files you are trying to delete will be permanently deleted and will no longer be stored in your recycle bin.
