Windows 10: Can't open Office 2007 link for Templates - Operation Cancelled Due to Restrictions in...

I want to access a new office document template but when I click on the link "Templates on Office Online" the following appears​

"Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Contact your system administrator."​

I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR !! ​

Dear Community, pleeeeeese can u help me? I can't afford to waste 100s more hours trying to fix Win10's problems. This is my PERSONAL Home Computer NOT a work PC - there's NO Organisation (although it likes to refer me to them too sometimes) - I am the only forking administrator. I'm the only user. The only user account is MINE & it IS an Administrator Account. I just want to know what the problem is and How Do I Fix It? PLEASE...and if you can go easy on the jargon, stick to laymans terms if possible ? I'm not basic but I'm not a systems specialist either


**MICROSOFT - There are 50 pages on here dating back to 2010 all asking about the same thing. That is 9 YEARS of frustrated consumers - Stop locking these questions without providing YOUR CUSTOMERS with a simple explanation, STOP BLAMING it on third party applications. Own up an provide a resolution with step by step instructions that will fix the problem and stop it happening in the future. Thank You.

I've updated my win10 to the anniversary update and faced a problem, when I hit a link in MS Outlook 2010, the following message appears:

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions

I run a search on the net, set my browser, firefox ver. 50.0.3 64 bit as default browser, MS Outlook 2010 as my default mail program, but nothing changed.
I tried registry corrections suggested in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/310049/hyperlinks-are-not-working-in-outlook

but the problem stayed.

What else can I do?

Try Start, Settings, Apps, Microsoft Edge, Advanced options, Repair or Reset.

Hi All

I logged on as Administrator on a PC and did a change in group policy to allow certain programs to run for users.

My thinking was that this will not affect the Administrator Account.

Now I want to go back to group policy but then I get the message Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect.

In fact the message appears for all applications that I did not include in the list.

Help needed in getting to undo this setting.
