Windows 10: Can't re-enable windows defender interface after uninstalling Norton

    Can't re-enable windows defender interface after uninstalling Norton


    I have followed all the steps here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-windows/808253bb-db89-4db9-a4e5-1c91a86489e9 . When i did the last step of adding the "DisableAntiSpyware" to x00000000 to the registry,it seemed to all work, after the first boot, but then after the second boot and beyond it has never worked.

    On the security at a glance i only have 6 options and am missing the 7th "virus and threat protection" also when i right click files and click on "Scan with windows Defender..." i get a popup that states "page not available" "Your IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app and the item you tried to access is not available. contact IT helpdesk for more information". Also, I cannot restart the security center in services, i don't have pro so i cannot use the gpedit.     Windows Antivirus enabled Norton Antivirus disabled?

    Assuming you've got Norton installed...

    Two suggestions to try.





    I use Malwarebytes Free (also have Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit) with Windows Defender and there are no conflicts.

    But you may want to seek advice from Norton about using Malwarebytes products concurrently with Norton programs

  3. Norton or Windows Defender?

    This suggests that your install of Norton is not in good shape. Try uninstalling and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, contact Norton support.

    In the end you have to decide for yourself which Anti-Virus program you want to use...
