    Hello everyone and thanks for reading. My laptop's W10 started malfunctioning like this out of nowhere since yesterday and I fear I'm gonna have to format and install W10 from scratch, with no apparent chance at making a backup of my information.

    Has anyone ever come across this problem? How is it solved?

    I'm running chkdsk /r right now on my laptop (I activated it through CMD and restarted my laptop) and it's been at 11% in Stage 4 for a while, I'm gonna leave it to complete the process to see if that helps.

    But I'm running out of ideas, either way, I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of formatting the hard drive because I'd have to back up some of the information, but I've already said it won't let me.

    Any suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking that if it comes to it and I have to format, my only option would be to use a file restore software such as Recuva to see if I can get back all of my files. I've done it before but it renders computers useless for a while and that is what I want to avoid.

    Cannot read files on floppy disk

    Hi, I have files that I know are good on a floppydisk. On trying to access them a message says the disk need formatting. I have tried to use PhotoRec from the UBCD but it will apparantly only read HDD or CD/DVD.

    Can anyone suggest a freeware program that might work. Thank you for your help.

    Disk Read Errors

    OK, earlier, I got a BSOD. Now I'm getting disk read errors. The error on the BSOD was 0x00000F4, and now, when I load up the system, it posts, does everything, then, just beofre it would start loading Windows, it comes up with:

    Disk read error
    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.

    Any ideas? I kinda need to get it working ASAP...
