    Can’t remove searchscopes: is doing a clean install a good idea?


    Even though this thread is solved thanks to all of you for your help by doing a clean install, it still astounds me that Microsoft would include instructions to “Go to the Reset your password page” when you can’t sign in.

    In post #5, I mentioned “Upon booting back up the Microsoft password doesn't work. I saw one of the tutorials on how to reset the password. However, how can I do that if I can't log in and get on the internet?”

    So I looked up When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account

    Part of the instructions include: “Go to the Reset your password page”
    --- How are you supposed to be able to “Go to the Reset your password page”? when you can’t sign in?
    --- What am I missing here?
