Windows 10: Can't scroll documents in Word

Recently, I suddenly found that I can't use my fingers to scroll documents in word, nor can I use the mouse wheel. But I can still zoom with two fingers. I feel that this is a problem with my computer itself, not word and I also see the same issue when reading PDFs in Adobe Acrobat, but it's ok in Google Chrome. This problem is very irritating, I need to read over a lot of long articles in school, which now I only can scroll documents by dragging the scroll bar or pushing keyboard buttons. This has a serious impact on my reading efficiency. I hope there is a way to solve it. I don't mind making changes to important parts of the system if necessary.

Wrong "remove from list" document on word mobile.

Hi,

To further assist you with your concern about re-enabling files that were removed from the Recent Documents List in Word, we suggest to follow this steps:

• Click the FILE tab in the program.
• Click Options from the list on the left side of the screen.
• On the Word Options dialog box, click Advanced in the list of options on the left.
• On the Advanced screen, scroll down to the Display section. Select the value in the Show this number of Recent Documents edit box. You can choose to change the value to 0 to disable the list.
  
• When you open Word, or select the Open option in the program, there are no documents in your Recent Documents list.
• To re-enable the list, go back into the Word Options dialog box and enter the desired value (from 0 to 50, inclusive) in the Show this number of Recent Documents edit box on the Advanced screen. If any documents were previously displayed in the Recent Documents
  list, they are added to the list again.

word document writing and editing scrolling - need to get it to stop

I am Aster, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to help you with your problem.

It could be due to spring being faulty in the wheel of the mouse or the settings have been changed that makes the scrolling jump further as if it is autoscrolling. You can check your Mouse settings here:

1. open start menu and search Mouse settings, then under "Choose how many lines to scroll each time" adjust to a lower value and see if it helps to solve the issue when you use word document.

If the above does not help, try changing the settings from Word document:

1. in Word, click File, then Options

2. click Quick Access Toolbar

3. in the dropdown list titled "Choose commands from:", select Commands Not in the Ribbon

4. then in the list of items on the left, scroll down all the way to Auto Scroll, ensure that this is not listed in the list of items on the right. If it is, remove it from the right list

5. Click OK to save changes
