    Hi there

    Might be a silly question - but is your ROUTER set to be able to send 5GHZ Wifi. You might need to enable it. The Wifi card in your computer should also be 5GHZ capable.

    The 5GHZ wireless signal has NOTHING to do with the ISP -- the router converts its signal from the outside whether via copper wire or a fibre optic cable box into a wifi signal which adheres to a number of protocols.

    For maximum compatibility it's probably best to choose a setting that allows both 2.4 and 5 GHZ. These settings should be in the Routers setup.

    Do the same on the Wifi adapter settings if you can get at these (sometimes the settings are locked as specific channels are restricted in various countries -- like I think (not sure) that Ch 13 is restricted in the EU countries.

    Most Wifi adapters are offshoots,
    I actually use RT2870 drivers on my belkin USB wifi.
    I used the instructions i posted to udate them on my PC.
