Can't select 2560x1080 resolution for ultrawide monitor with Windows 10 1909 Update

I have a Dell Inspiron with Intel UHD Graphic 630 adapter with a HDMI connection. My monitor is a LG Ultrawide screen which requires 2560x1080 resolution. Before the current and previous Windows 10 updates the last one was 1909, I was able to obtain the correct resolution. However, when I updated Window 10 each time, the best resolution I could pick is 1920x1080 which is horrible. What can I do? I am not an IT guy so I'm not real familiar with the jargon so if you have a suggestion, please, explain it in layman's terms as much as possible. I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

    :)

  2. I can't set the resolution to 2560x1080 on my LG 29UM58-P ultrawide monitor

Grapich card: AMD FirePro 2100 Driver version: 25.20.15012.12 Driver date: 2019-01-08
Monitor: LG 29UM58-P ultrawide Driver version: 1.0.0.0 Driver date: 2015-08-26 with DP to HDMI adapter

    OS: Win 10

Altough I tried updating all the drivers I can't set the resolution to 2560x1080 because there is no such an option at the display settings.

When I'm trying to update the driver of the monitor by clicking on the Update driver button at the monitor properties it says "The best drivers for your device are already installed". I saw that there is some new drivers at the support page of LG for this
monitor, i've tried them all but when I run setup it does nothing but shows a popup with one line: "Driver installation success". No progress bar no nothing. And when I check again the driver of the monitor at the monitor properties I see that the driver is
still 1.0.0.0. It does not get updated.
It just works fine on Ubuntu, without any settings required...

  3. Force (correct) ultrawide resolution on Monitor

I have an LG Ultrawide monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1080, now paired with a Surface Pro 6 (SP6) running Windows 10 Pro x64 (I upgraded). I am using a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter for display, via the Surface Pro 3 Dock.

    The problem:

Originally the SP6 did not detect the monitor's brand and read it as "General PnP". After manually installing the driver from LG's website and the updating it via Windows, it is now recognized as "LG Ultrawide".

My Surface Pro 3, which was sold last year, worked fine with this setup.

    More random things:

    1. The same happened fresh out of the box with Windows 10 Home.
    2. I am up to date with Windows 10 Pro.
    3. I have tried the MiniDP on both the SP3 dock and machine.
    4. Intel's website says I need to update my UHD 620 Graphics. Windows says it's up to date. Trying to install it anyway gives an error to the effect of "This is not for your machine".

    Thoughts...

    • It could be my adapter. But it worked fine for my SP3.
    • My Thinkpad Yoga L380 works fine via HDMI, so likely the problem is not the monitor.

    My Question:

  4. Can't select 2560x1080 resolution for ultrawide monitor with Windows 10 1909 Update

Lost 2560x1080 resolution on LG34 Monitor after Windows 10 update, 24 Feb 2019

I lost my 2560x1080 resolution on LG34 Monitor after Windows 10 update, 24 Feb 2019. I am using a new Windows Surface Book 2 with a dock and a Display cable. It was working fine before the Windows update but after it the LG Monitor will only recognise
    1024x768 and 800x600 resolutions.
