    I just updated to Windows 10 October 2018 Update (1809), and I can't set my main monitor to 144 Hz. It is connected via DisplayPort, and I have no problem setting the refresh rate in my other monitors.

    Also, if I set the refresh rate to 120 Hz or 60 Hz on my main monitor, it will go down to 59 or 119 Hz. I have clean-installed the latest graphics drivers (NVIDIA 411.70) to no help.

    That is not the main problem. Lowering my refresh rate is a temporary solution, as my monitor supports 144 Hz. I have been using the 144 Hz with no trouble until this October 2018 Update, where I can't set my monitor to that refresh rate on the Windows
    or NVIDIA config, or it will go black despite still being recognized by the OS.

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

    As you’ve already installed the latest graphics card driver, you may now try setting a lower resolution as many times the display can support higher refresh rate.

    Refresh rate in few cases drops down to 119 Hz or 59 Hz though it’s set to 120 Hz or 60 Hz. The reason for this behavior is that specific displays will only report 59.94 Hertz or 119.880 Hz, and when this happens,
    Windows will display two frequencies, including 59Hz and 60Hz or 119 Hz and 120 Hz for compatibility reasons.
    However, both 59 to 60 Hz or 119 Hz to 120 Hz will set the refresh rate to 59.94 Hz or 119.880 Hz.
