Windows 10: can't start Windows Defender

hey guys,


I used Windows Defender for some time, it was working well until I installed a VPN program calledCyberghost.


On installing I remember that i agreed on something but unfortunately I can't remember what was it exactly but it was something about firewall or something.


I uninstalled that Cyberghost but I noticed that i can't turn my firewall settings back on neither my windows defender.


and it keeps giving me that error


I did a research about the problem and all the solutions i found include starting Windows Defender Services from Services.msc


I tried to do so but i can't even start the service. there is no start option. the button is gray all the buttons are gray.


I really appreciate your patience and I hope I didn't do any mistakes while writing.


I am using Windows 8.1.

To troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you check the Windows Defender service if it's running. If you are using a third party spyware/malware program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows + R key.
• Type services.msc.
• Right-click Windows Defender service and click
  Start.
