Windows 10: Can’t switch out of S Mode

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Surface Go, as I was attempting to install the updates, they were all able to install but one “Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - Jan 2020 (KB890830) error 0x800711c7. I’ve tried to look it up & tried a few different thing but no avail. I’ve done an entire reset on my PC but still hasn’t worked. The message I get says “there was a problem installing some updates but we’ll try again later.

I thought I read the problem was S mode so I tried switching out of S mode since I know it’s a free upgrade in the Microsoft store.... but when I click the “get” button literally nothing happens.

Not sure what to do from here, any suggestions?

Airplane mode switch not working

Since the troubleshooting steps that were provided did not resolve the issue, we suggest switching on the Radio Management Service. To do that, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type services.msc, then hit Enter.
• Search for Radio Management Service.
  
• Right-click, then choose Start.

Note: Never ever set this service to "Disabled".

Get back to us if the steps won't work.

 

Switching out of S Mode

I am having trouble switching my laptop out of S Mode. I went through the steps that are listed, and the Windows Store is updated and it won't let me click Get when you go to the screen to switch out of S mode.

Fix problems switching Windows modes in Microsoft Store and try performing troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article and check if it resolves the issue.
